Here is important information about our use of your information and your use of this website.

What will we use your picture for?
Your photo/self-portrait will form part of our visual petition at the Control Arms website: the main domain for which is: www.controlarms.org. Your photo/self-portrait may also be used in posters and other literature to promote the campaign. We will make sure that any photos/self-portraits used other than on the site will not just be of one or two individuals, but would be used as a collection of photos. You will still be able to see the individual on most of this material. We will not otherwise use individual photos/pictures on posters and literature without first obtaining your consent. However, images are subject to review and may be deleted if load time is unacceptable or we consider the image is inappropriate for the site.
What information about you will we put on the website?
On our website we will display your picture and your first name and town, country. Although we need information such as your email address to add you to our petition we will not display this information on the Controlarms website.
Who are we?
Amnesty International

IANSA
The International Action Network on Small Arms is the global network of civil society organisations working to stop the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons (SALW) Founded in 1998, IANSA has grown rapidly to more than 500 participant groups in nearly 100 countries with representation from many gun-affected regions. IANSA is composed of a wide range of organisations concerned with small arms, including policy development organisations, national gun control groups, research institutes, aid agencies, faith groups, victims, human rights and community action organisations.
Oxfam
Oxfam GB is a development, relief, and campaigning organisation that works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering around the world. The website is managed on behalf of the Controlarms campaign by Oxfam GB, the United Kingdom affiliate of Oxfam International.
What other use can we make of information about you?
We will provide your details to Oxfam International and Amnesty International, and to the relevant affiliate of Oxfam International and Amnesty International in your country, to enable them to send you further information about their campaigns and programmes, but you may request them at any time not to send you such information.
Why do we ask for an age?
In order to protect children, we do not knowingly include photographs of children under 16 years old. We will instead encourage the use of drawings. By submitting a photograph, you confirm you are 16 or over.
What am I agreeing to when I submit an image?
We do not own the images you submit to us, but by submitting an image, you grant us permission free of charge to include it on the website and for the other uses referred to in this information. You should not send an image if the person who created the image (i.e. took the photo) would object to this. We are not obliged to use the image and may remove it at any time at our sole discretion.
How will we protect your privacy?
We aim to protect your personal details. To that end the information on the website will not include your family name, unless you have specifically asked us to or included it within the image and unless we agree. Only the images and other material to be included on the website will be disclosed. However, we do have the right to disclose additional details if we consider it necessary to comply with a governmental request or legal, or regulatory, obligation. Also, the information will be shared between Oxfam, and Amnesty International as set out under "What other use can we make of information about you" above. In doing this we may transfer your data outside the European Economic Area to countries that do not have equivalent data protection laws to that in the UK. All members of the campaign will, however, comply with this privacy statement wherever they are based.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate the website and/or remove any of the images on it at any time.
What resizing or other changes may we make?
In order to display your picture in the gallery we will resize it to a thumbnail picture.
We reserve the right to change the dimensions or otherwise alter your image for the purposes of this campaign.
Can I copy content from the site?
We cannot stop people downloading the website, as this is the whole point of the online petition, nor can we prevent individuals copying images. However, it is a condition of you accessing the site that you agree to comply with the law relating to copyright and privacy in your country, and the licence terms below.
You may view all the publically available information on this site. Electronically you may not copy the images, unless this happens incidentally in the course of your accessing the site (i.e. "cacheing").
Oxfam GB owns the copyright and database rights in this website. No part of this website may be published, distributed, extracted, re-utilised or reproduced except as set out below.
What things are not tolerated from people using the site?
You agree in your use of the site not to use the images for any improper or commercial purpose. In particular, but without limitation, you will not break any applicable laws or regulations, you will not make any immoral or distasteful use of the images, and you will not infringe the rights of any person, including the privacy, publicity, image or contractual rights of any of the persons in the images. You will not exploit the images or other content of the site in any way that
i. is or could be in any way harmful to children
ii. is offensive or promotes harm to any racial, ethnic, sexual or religious group or individual
iii. is libellous, or defamatory or otherwise illegal
iv. contains or is connected with any personal information about the subjects of the images other than contained on the site
v. involves the sending of any unsolicited mailings
vi. infringes copyright or other intellectual property right in the images.
We may withdraw or modify this licence at any time.
How are any complaints or disputes resolved?
Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any concerns about the site or the use of your image. You may ask us at any time to remove your image from the website, email us at: info@controlarms.org. These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Liability
You agree that we have no liability, direct or indirect, howsoever arising, including in negligence, in the event of loss or damage of any kind associated with your participation in this site., except as provided by the applicable law. This does not affect liability that, as a matter of law, cannot be disclaimed.
